⁉️ Did You Know ⁉️ There are 3 different 'reactive' strategies we use to regulate our emotions 'in the moment'. 👇 🧠🤯Cognitive reframe - Where we think differently to feel differently by obtaining a new perspective or adjusting our current perspective on what we are feeling. 👀🤳Attentional deployment - Where we focus differently to feel differently, usually by seeking a distraction to alleviate or change what we are feeling (e.g. distracting ourselves with a phone scroll, chat, or music). 🌊🚫Response modulation: Where we modulate our emotional response by either suppressing, repressing or accentuating the emotion to make it bigger, or smaller. Usually, people use this technique to 'push down' or ignore difficult emotions.
