That’s a whopping 79% of managers who have to suppress and repress their emotions (until they no longer can). Anger, annoyance and frustration carry negative connotations with them, particularly in the workplace; for many of us instances of being shouted at by bosses or receiving exasperated emails may come to mind. So how can managers, and the employees they manage, get better at expressing anger and frustration in a healthy, constructive way? The best way is to frame emotions as sensations, rather than labelling them, and then relate them back to the original trigger.
