Who else enjoyed the CIPD’s Festival of Work last week? The EAW team headed down to London to explore and experience the most innovative and inspiring ideas and concepts the L&D/HR world had to offer…and we were not disappointed. We also hosted a fringe event of our own in collaboration with the wonderful Mindtools team - a hot takes brainstorming session where attendees debated and brainstormed alternative takes on the festival’s leading topics. Now we need YOU to vote for the hottest take of them all, from these top six takes: Environmental & Social Governance: ‘ESG’ as a term conveys no sense of urgency - climate change is happening now! Equality, Diversity & Inclusion: We need to be more honest to the ‘overrepresented’ - what they’ll give up and what they’ll gain. Internal Comms: L&D can never build communities as they are not targeted or rewarded for it. Learning & Development: Most employees aren’t actually that interested in L&D Employee Engagement: There is a direct link between employee experience or intrinsic motivation Wellbeing: Wellbeing programmes are a thinly veiled apology for working employees to the bone.
