📢Announcement Time 📢 We’re bringing back #curatedassets! This first one is an article that delves deep into the impact of screens on our brains. The article explores how communication via screens can result in reduced brain activity, a conclusion drawn from research by Dr Guillaume Dumas and his team at the University of Montreal. This research measured the brain activity of 62 mother-children pairs when they communicated face to face versus through a screen. The results showed that during face to face communication 9 significant cross links between the frontal and temporal areas of the brain were made, as opposed to just 1 during virtual video communication. Recommendations are made on how we can reduce the negative impact of screens, particularly on children, by changing the way we use technology in everyday situations (such as not opting for it as a pacifier/distraction).
