The #CuratedAsset we wanted to share with you all this week is a TEDx talk based on how to not take things personally. Did you know that we have around 50,000 thoughts a day, but only 10,000 of these are positive? This means 80% of our thoughts are negative, and we need to change this. In the workplace (or in our home lives), we might find ourselves taking other people’s words personally and letting them affect us negatively. Frederik Imbo shares 2 strategies on how to not take things personally: 1. it’s NOT about me – which explores looking at the situation from the other person’s point of view 2. it IS about me – accepting there may be some truth in what is being said and building on this to better yourself and your thinking Have a watch of the video and leave us your thoughts and questions in the comments!
